Why we built this

Jiffy CV started with a frustration most people looking for a job in India will recognise. You send out forty applications. You hear back from two. Nobody tells you why — and often the honest answer is that no person read it. Software scanned your resume, compared it with the job post, and ranked you below a line you never saw.

The fix sounds simple: tailor your resume to every job. But doing that properly takes 30 to 45 minutes each time. If you already have a full-time job, a family, or just a life, you don’t have those hours. So most people send the same CV everywhere and hope for the best.

We wanted to give those hours back — without cutting corners.

There are plenty of tools that will “optimise” a resume. The dangerous shortcut is to add a skill, a number or a qualification you never had, just to push the score up. The resume looks better, until someone asks about it in an interview.

Jiffy CV only works with what your resume already proves. If you led a project and buried it in a vague bullet, we bring it forward and phrase it the way the job post does. There’s usually more of that available than people expect.

When a job asks for something your resume doesn’t show, no rewording can fix that. We keep it clearly marked as missing. If there’s honest wording we can suggest, you confirm it’s true before it’s used. We never invent qualifications.

We also keep the resumes simple on purpose. Designed, multi-column resumes look great to people but often confuse the software that reads them first. A clean resume that gets read beats a beautiful one that doesn’t.

Your match score is there so you can see the difference before you hit send — not to flatter you. If we ever start inflating it, we’ve become the thing we set out to fix.
